these photos are a small selection from the thousands of photos i took during my first visit to kenya in march 2023. they were exhibited in September 2023 at a fundraiser of the non-profit organization tuma kimbi.
i had only very recently started getting more involved in the organization and was still a novice in photography. this trip was an opportunity for me to combine both worlds.
one of my closest friends in kenya, achola, is a genuinely impressive, tough and loving person who is pursuing her rocky path with incredible dedication. together with a friend, she founded the label wastaarab some time ago and is selling kenyan streetwear. i myself have a whole set as you can see here in the pictures.
this photoshoot in an underground car park in nairobi in january 2024 was a lot of fun and one of the first where I made maximum use of the tripod, self-timer and remote control.
